The Spring Festival of 2022 is getting closer and closer. At present, some weaving factories, dyeing factories and finishing plants have stopped working, ushering in the Spring Festival holiday. The remaining factories have also entered the year-end closing stage. It can be said that this is a special and important stage. Order reception, holiday time, startup rate, etc. are all aspects worthy of attention.
Weaving operation rate dropped sharply
According to our research, most companies are still operating normally, but most of them focus on collections, inventory counting, cleaning and other tasks. There are not many companies that actually produce orders. Coupled with the impact of production shutdowns in some areas this week, the start-up rate of water-jet looms has dropped significantly. According to data monitoring from China Silk City Network, the current operating rate of water-jet and air-jet looms in Shengze is about 50%. Some businesses were forced to suspend operations, so they were left with work such as collecting payments.
In addition to companies that have been forced to suspend operations, there are some companies that originally planned to have a holiday from January 10 to 15, or there is a shortage of labor due to workers returning home early, which can only reduce the operating rate. Therefore, under the influence of many factors, the operating rate of weaving enterprises has reached a low level.
Some corporate orders are scheduled to March and April
It is worth noting that orders have improved significantly at the end of the year and the beginning of the year. Some weaving companies and foreign trade companies in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong and other places have reported that since late December last year, spring and summer orders have begun to pick up. In particular, orders from some enterprises above a certain size have increased significantly compared with the previous period. Whether it is inquiry or placement, The number of orders has increased.
Manager Wang, the person in charge of a foreign trade company, also revealed: “At the end of December, we received a foreign trade order of 400,000 meters, but there was definitely not enough time. We finally discussed with the customer to complete 100,000 meters before the holiday. So there is still 300,000 meters to be completed after the year. production, so orders will be scheduled until at least April.”
Polyester taffeta, imitation silk and other products have begun to sell well
Through research, this batch of orders at the end of the year is mainly for spring and summer fabrics, which means that next year’s orders will officially start. As for spring and summer fabrics, artificial silk is naturally indispensable, and now is the time when artificial silk is hot-selling. And some specifications of raw materials for imitation silk need to be queued up to buy, which is very popular. Mr. Shen of the imitation silk company told the editor that the factory has been doing a lot of Zuojima recently, and there are orders for hundreds of thousands of meters of random hemp.
Mr. Wang from a foreign trade company also revealed: “Recently, polyester taffeta has been selling well in the market. Most of the flat vats in dyeing factories are made of polyester taffeta, and there are also more imitation silks. In particular, SPH products are quite popular.”
For spring and summer fabric orders, the most conventional fabrics such as polyester taffeta are indispensable. It has a wide range of uses, so it is indispensable for the production of clothing in every season. Recently, many trading companies have stated that they have received many large orders for polyester taffeta.
Downstream procurement of raw materials remains cautious
During this period, with the good performance of domestic and foreign trade orders, the polyester raw material polyester filament also rose strongly. However, since most manufacturers have formed the habit of buying and using raw materials in recent years, polyester filament production and sales have been deserted for a long time while the price continues to rise. At the same time, although downstream orders have recovered, as the holidays will soon come, even if manufacturers have stockings, they are only in small quantities and there has not been a stocking wave.
In previous years, many companies would buy polyester yarn at the bottom at the end of the year, because the probability of price increases after the Spring Festival has always been very high. However, polyester is a bit abnormal this year. The price of polyester has already increased wildly at the end of the year, making people a little confused about the market, and they dare not blindly stock up. Therefore, downstream weaving companies have been cautious in purchasing raw materials this year, which also seems particularly dull.
Some companies postpone holidays and start work early
In terms of holidays, since December, there have been some news about factory holidays in the market every week, but it is only now in mid-January that some corporate holidays have begun. Generally speaking, the factory holidays are not in advance this year, and even those manufacturers that are still producing are postponed compared with previous years. And all this is due to the increase in orders received by manufacturers. The biggest difference between this year and previous years is that there was a wave of orders during the period that was supposed to end, which disrupted the factory’s holiday plan. As a result, factories are postponing their holidays and are likely to start work earlier.
Many trading companies also said that orders have been received after the Spring Festival, and work will basically start as soon as the new year begins. Mr. Shen, the person in charge of a company that makes satin, Zuojima and other fabrics, said: “We have always had orders to produce, and they can’t be finished before the holidays. The later the holiday can be, the better. We are going to start work on the eighth day of the Lunar New Year and start production as early as possible so that the orders can be placed Only then can I hand it in on time.”
Mr. Liu, who produces non-woven fabrics, said that orders for non-woven fabrics continue throughout the year, and the employees are all family members and do not return home, so there are no holidays. Production will continue even during the Spring Festival. This way we can meet the order delivery time.
From this point of view, the first half of 2022 will have a “good start”, and judging from the order volume, the traditional peak season of “gold, three, silver and four” is also very promising.
Mr. Liu, who produces non-woven fabrics, said that the market will be good in the new year. There will be troughs and peaks. There should be new markets at the beginning of next year, mainly because old fabrics have become old styles, and new ones will follow. Hot items will become darlings.
