Interplanting morels in mulberry orchards can not only increase farmers’ income, but plowing the soil when planting morels can also help the roots of the mulberry trees fully absorb nutrients. The residues after harvest can also be pressed into green manure to increase the soil content of the mulberry orchards. The fertility not only solves the traditional planting model of low income from single-crop planting, but also promotes the stable development of sericulture and the continuous increase in farmers’ income.
Relying on the newly introduced Ankang Runzechang Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Shiquan County has implemented three projects in Junmin Village of Zhongchi Town, Mingxing Village of Chihe Town, and Hexin Village. In the mulberry garden interplanting morel test demonstration site, the sowing work has been completed in mid-December. Under the guidance of Zhang Honghai, an agricultural technical expert selected from Jintan District, Changzhou City, every step is strictly carried out in accordance with the “Technical Regulations for the Production of Morel Mushrooms in Southern Shaanxi Mulberry Garden” (Discussion Draft) operating procedures. Mushrooms are expected to bloom in February, and can be harvested one crop after another until the end of April.
