On November 17, the Haikou Experimental Station of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences in Shenzhen released its new research results – banana dried hemp and banana fiber/ramie blended fabrics. This product is made from discarded banana stems through hemp hanging, degumming and other processes. It is not only environmentally friendly but also has good application prospects.
Banana fiber dried hemp has the characteristics of hemp fiber being antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-ultraviolet, and anti-static. The banana crude fiber involved in this product is extracted from banana stems using a hemp hanging machine, and the degumming process uses biological enzyme preparations. Banana dried linen is blended with ramie, and the resulting blend is an all-natural plant fiber fabric that can be used for home textiles, decoration, travel souvenirs, etc.
It is reported that my country is the second largest banana producer in the world, producing approximately 18 million tons of banana stems every year. Using them in the textile industry will produce huge economic benefits.
In addition, the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences has also released new technologies such as whole agarwood tree incense, high-stability rubber wood treatment, and rapid biological coagulation of natural rubber fresh milk.
