According to reports, currently, an average of 18 plastic bottles are used to make a set of jerseys. These jerseys made of plastic fibers are thinner, sweat-absorbent and more environmentally friendly than cotton fabrics. Taiwan’s annual plastic bottle consumption reaches 4.5 billion. But despite this, Taiwan still needs to import used plastic bottles to meet domestic demand.
The report pointed out that in addition to sportswear, this plastic bottle can also be used to produce blankets. Since 2007, humanitarian activities initiated by religious organizations have distributed more than 500,000 plastic fiber blankets free of charge. It is reported that this green blanket is made of green plastic bottles. Since no dye is added, the color of the final product is exactly the same as the color of the bottle. In addition, no additional waste is generated during the fabric production process, so it is very environmentally friendly.
