Oxford cloth printing is a method of printing dyes or paints onto fabrics to form patterns through a certain process. Printing is also called spot dyeing. Dyeing refers to the process of treating textile materials in a dye bath to chemically or physically combine the dye with the fiber, or to generate insoluble colored substances on the fiber.

When we use the same dye for dyeing and printing, the properties of the chemical additives used are similar, and the coloring mechanism of the dye is also the same. But there are many differences between dyeing and printing. What are the differences between the two?

1. The processing media are different. The printing process requires the addition of paste and dyeing materials to prepare printing paste to prevent unclear pattern outlines or flower shape distortion, as well as to prevent dye migration during drying after printing. The dyeing process uses water as the medium. Generally, no or only a small amount of thickening paste is added as an anti-migration agent.

2. The color matching methods are different. When printing, different types of dyes are often used for joint printing or printing with the same paddle, while dyeing rarely uses two different types of dyes for color matching. Printing and dyeing have different quality requirements for semi-finished products. To obtain the same shade of color, the amount of dye used in printing is much larger than that in dyeing, so cosolvents are sometimes added.

3. The post-processing process is different. The dried paste after printing will form a film that prevents the dye from penetrating and diffusing into the fiber. Sometimes steam must be used to transfer the dye from the paste to the fiber (that is, to increase the diffusion rate of the dye) to complete the coloring. process, and then carry out conventional washing, soaping, drying and other processes. The post-processing of dyeing processing usually involves washing, soaping, drying and other processes. During the dyeing processing, the dye liquor on the fabric has a long action time, and the dye can fully penetrate and diffuse into the fiber, so no other steps are needed. Special post-processing.

The above are the differences between printing and dyeing in terms of processing media, color matching methods, and post-processing techniques. Do you feel like It’s great!
