Recently, our committee conducted an investigation and analysis of the cotton production costs and benefits of 371 survey households in 36 survey counties (cities) in the region (including the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps), and went to some areas to conduct on-site surveys. The results showed that : Compared with 2020, the cotton yield in our region in 2021 is characterized by a slight decrease in yield, increased cost, sharp increase in sales price, and substantial increase in income.
1. Yield per unit decreases slightly
The yield of cotton (lint) per mu in 2021 will decrease by 0.34 kilograms, or 0.25%, compared with the previous year. The main reason is that in some areas, the accumulated temperature during the cotton planting period is insufficient, the temperature continues to be high during the growth period, and it is affected by more pests and diseases, strong winds, and hail. and other natural disasters.
2. Cost increase
The cost per mu of cotton in 2021 will increase by 144.59 yuan, or 6.24%, compared with the previous year. The more obvious increases are fertilizer fees, pesticide fees, mechanical operation fees, drainage and irrigation fees (water fees) and land rental fees.
3. Net profit and cash income increased significantly
Affected by the sharp increase in cotton sales price, net profit and cash income per mu increased significantly. In 2021, the average selling price of 50 kilograms of lint cotton increased by 450.8 yuan compared with the previous year, an increase of 65.39%; the net profit per mu increased by 1291.63 yuan compared with the previous year; the cash income per mu increased by 1334.11 yuan compared with the previous year, an increase of 160.63 %. </p
