Abstract: Oxford cloth printing is a method of printing dyes or pigments on fabrics through a certain process to form patterns. Printing is also called local dyeing. Dyeing refers to the process of treating textile materials with a dye bath to chemically or physically combine the dye with the fiber, or to generate insoluble colored substances on the fiber. When we use the same dye in dyeing and printing, the properties of the chemical additives used are similar, and the coloring mechanism of the dye is also the same. However, there are many differences between dyeing and printing. What’s the difference between the two? 1. The processing media are different. When we use the same dye in dyeing and printing, the properties of the chemical additives used are similar, and the coloring mechanism of the dye is also the same. But there are many differences between dyeing and printing. What’s the difference between the two? 1. The processing media are different. The printing process requires adding color paste and dye together to prepare the printing paste to prevent unclear pattern outlines or flower shape deformation, and to prevent dye migration during the printing process after drying. The dyeing process uses water as the medium. Generally, no or only a small amount of thickening paste is added as an anti-migration agent. 2. The color matching methods are different. When printing, common printing or paddle printing often uses different types of dyes, while dyeing rarely uses two different types of dyes for color matching. Printing and dyeing have different requirements for the quality of semi-finished products. Get the same shade of color. The amount of dye used in printing is much greater than that in dyeing, so cosolvents are sometimes added. 3. The post-processing process is different. The dried slurry forms a film after printing that prevents the dye from penetrating and diffusing into the fiber. Sometimes steam must be used to transfer the dye from the slurry to the fibers (i.e. increase the rate of diffusion of the dye) to complete the coloring. Processing, followed by conventional washing, soaping, drying and other processes. The post-processing of the dyeing process usually involves washing, soaping, drying and other processes. During the dyeing process, the dye liquor on the fabric acts for a longer time, and the dye can more fully penetrate and diffuse into the fiber, so no other special post-processing is required.
