According to reports, British fashion designer Lauren Bowker has perfectly combined fashion and technology to launch a series of sci-fi clothing, including a crop top that changes color and a shoulder bag that can display pollution. The science behind color-changing crop tops and calfskin shoulder bags is very similar. The color-changing properties of both are due to the luxurious fabrics used combined with high technology, which can have an effect on the fabric according to changes in the surrounding environment, including pollution levels, air pressure or temperature changes.
The movement of the wearer causes air to pass through the fabric of the clothes and shoulder bags, eventually causing the color to change.
Lauren Bowker graduated from Manchester College of Art, where she created the pollution-sensing compound PdCI2, which was added to crocodile leather shoulder bags to sense changes in atmospheric pollution. Lauren Bowker then went to the Royal College of Art in London to continue studying dyeing and textiles. Her goal is to reflect the technological world around us through luxury goods and luxurious materials.
“We are always looking for special brands and one-of-a-kind experiences for our stores, and Lauren Bowker’s unique craftsmanship and designs stand out above all others,” said Sebastian Menis, buying director at Selfridges. imagination, and their team’s handling of materials and colors is unprecedented.”
