What is air textured yarn?

Air deformation technology, false twist elastic technology and air network technology are currently the three main yarn deformation technology. Air network yarn is also called air entangled yarn and air interlaced yarn. It is a method of processing yarn with air. Network yarn sprays turbulent airflow onto the yarn body, causing some of the single fibers to deflect significantly and intertwining or networking other fibers together, so that the yarn body is free of sizing, so it is also called sizing-free yarn. By networking together two types of threads with different shrinkage rates, different silk types, and different color absorptions, the fabric can obtain various shapes or hues.

False-twisted elastic yarn uses false-twisting technology to twist thermoplastic synthetic fibers. When the yarn body is twisted, heat is added to fix the torsion state of the yarn body. When the twist is released, the yarn body has no twist and appears curled. fluffy state.

The air deformation technology is when the silk thread enters the inlet of the nozzle through overfeeding. Due to the existence of the overfeeding amount, the turbulent airflow blows the single fiber of the overfeeding thread into a circle, which is heat set at high temperature and curled. The state of the thread is It becomes an air-textured yarn with a fluffy terry shape. It is the same as the false-twisted elastic yarn. The yarn is fluffy and the curl is more obvious. The torque-free air-textured yarn on the yarn body is the same as the network yarn. It uses air to deform the single fiber, but the yarn No network point.

(2) Forms of air-textured yarns There are two main forms of air-textured yarns based on different processing techniques.

① A single type of air-textured filament is processed by overfeeding alone or two parallel overfeeding processes, that is, a single type of filament is processed, or two types of filaments are processed in parallel. The two filaments can be The same raw materials can also be used They are different kinds of raw materials. The commonly used feeding yarn is FOY yarn. It can be a single type of FOY yarn fed to the deformation nozzle alone, or a single type of FOY yarn drawn from the creel and two parallel feeding deformation nozzles [Figure 8 ( a)].

② Air textured yarn processed by parallel overfeeding of two kinds of yarns. The common yarns are FOY yarn and FDY yarn, or FOY yarn and POY yarn. The two kinds of yarns are drawn from the creel, and the parallel overfeeding yarn is Human deformation nozzle [Figure 8(b)].

(3) There are four main types of common air textured yarns.

① Compact yarn: When the core yarn and the skin yarn enter the nozzle at an overfeed rate of 10% and 30% respectively, a high bulk yarn composed of a core yarn with small loops and tight core lines can be obtained. For example, 83.3dtex/51f (75 denier/51f) nylon 66 is used as core yarn and skin yarn respectively to obtain 188.9dtex/102f (170 denier/102f) compact yarn, which is widely used as backpack material.

② High bulk yarn: When the core yarn and skin yarn enter the nozzle at 12% and 400% overfeed respectively, a high bulk yarn composed of many large loops of skin yarn and tight core yarn is obtained. For example, if you use 166.7dtex/68f (150 denier/68f) polyester core yarn and two 166.7dtex/68f (150 denier/68f) polyester skin yarn, you can obtain a bulk of about 2222.2dtex/204f (2000 denier/204f). yarn. It is widely used as car seat material.

③Mixed yarn: When the two raw materials enter the nozzle in parallel with an overfeed amount of 25%, a mixed yarn with less loops and the two filaments are closely mixed together will be obtained. For example, two 166.7dtex/48f (150 denier/48f) polyester filament and one 83.3dtex/68f (75 denier/68f) nylon filament are mixed into a 500dtex/164f (450 denier/164f) mixed yarn. It is widely used as women’s outerwear fabric. It can also be mixed with polyester and viscose. The two different raw materials can be dyed to obtain a good snowflake effect.

④ Slub yarn and fancy yarn: When the core yarn is fed into the nozzle at an overfeed of 10% and the skin yarn is over fed at a variable amount of 75% to 200%, the fancy yarn with long or short slubs will be obtained. Yarn, due to different overfeeding amounts of leather yarn, and regularly changing the overfeeding amount on the same yarn, you can obtain colorful slub yarns, which are widely used as decorative fabrics.
